An average O/O can make $144k a year. A few companies that have great pay for Owner Operators are Forward Air, USA Truck, Quality Carriers, & Atlas Van Lines.
  1. Get some experience under your belt

    • More experience usually does equate to more pay. Get some miles on your docket and keep a clean record!
  2. Increase your Skillset. (Obtain endorsements)

    • Keep adding to your skillset. Obtain endorsements, get your TWIC card, etc. The more you increase your skills, the greater the potential for driving cargo/specialty loads that will grant you a larger paycheck!
  1. Be willing to drive Regionally or OTR.

    • You may find a great local route, with decent pay. However, top dollars are more likely to be made when you drive a longer distance. 70% of America’s freight is delivered on a truck, and it’s going to take drivers willing to drive over-the-road to deliver it.
